A trendy historical precinct, on the path to gentrification.
Woodstock is one of the oldest neighborhood in the city of Cape Town. Once a small fishing hamlet, Woodstock began life as Papendorp in the mid-1800s, before land reclamation in the 1950s destroyed the magnificent Woodstock Beach.
Nowadays it has become a ‘trendy’ precinct, very dynamic and full of creativity, but not yet connected with the city.
We will see a few Industrial buildings from the textile Industry, converted into contemporary mixt-use building , as part of the urban gentrification process. We will walk in the streets, feeling the atmosphere of Woodstock and its diversity, looking at beautiful pieces of street art. You will enjoy meeting and interacting with famous South African artist-designers in their studios.
A friendly, instructive and relaxed experience.
